Can Rosac Cream Be Used For Treating Allergy?

Yes, thank you. I have been getting a rash only on my face since about March this year. It is on my eye lid/brow area, down side of my nose, across my cheeks, down side of my mouth to just under my chin. It goes away for 4-7 days then comes back for 4-7 days. I have had no change in my diet and am using nothing new. The doctors have ruled out lupus, rheumatoid arthritis. I have had allergies before but not like this. Would an allergy to something come & go like this? I have been taking zyrtec which only relieves it a bit. On bad days I have to take up to 3 to barely take the edge off. I have tried Rozac? cream and cortisone with little effect. I took a course of Doxy for 6 weeks with no change. I am now on Prednisolone for 5 days. What do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Rosac cream contains Sulfur and Sodium Sulfacetamide. These drugs do not treat allergies and is primarily used in infections.I would suggest you to continue with Prednisolone for the prescribed period. I would also recommend you to use regular sunscreen everyday. Reapply every three hours to maintain the effectiveness. Allergy testing can be done to find the possible allergen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
