Can Ponstan Be Taken As A Pain Reliever By A Tonsillitis-affected Patient?

Hi i was in with the emergency care doctor today with tonsilitis. I m on calvepen for it. I asked him is it OK to take ponstan as a pain reliever and said yes. But I ve read otherwise. Can I still take ponstan or go back to a different pain killer? Thanks

Related your concern you should know that Ponstan contain the active ingredient mefenamic acid, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and are used to relieve pain and inflammation. So, I suggest to use Ponstan as pain reliever and anti inflammatory effect in tonsillitis associated with antibiotic( no drug reaction with calvepen).
