Can PCOS And IBS Medicines Cause Mucus Stained Stools?

i am 28 years old and have PCOS and IBS. I recently started taking Metformin to help regulate my ovulation. However, since I started taking it regularly, I have noticed loose stools with a mucus-like look to them. Is it something I should be concerned about or just a side effect?

Hello,
You need not be concerned about it because loose stools can be caused by intake of metformin.Similarly mucus production is normal occurrence with people suffering from IBS.
Thanks
