Can Oxytrol Patch Be Safely Used With Actonel Combi?

HI Doctor, I have been prescribed Oxytrol but have been on Actonel Combi for many years for osteoporosis. Now when reading about Oxytrol, it tells me that I should not be taking anything containing risedronate! Is it safe to use the Oxytrol patch? Mary

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
In my expertise its advisable to use risedronate and oxytrol simultaneously. The adverse effects are extremely rare and seen only in females above 60 years age. In the event you experience any side effects such as dizziness or fatigue, I recommend to stop using the drugs and approach your prescribing doctor immediately.
Hope I have answered all your queries. If you have any further questions I would be happy to help.
