Can Otocomb Ointment Cause Facial Pigmentation Problems?

Hi, I have been using otocomb ointment on some acne sores on my face now for about 4 years. It ususally clears them up in a couple of days and I just use this every 2nd night on the spots only. But I think it is causing some pigmentation problems on my face now. Could this be the cause of it? Thanks

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The ointment that you are using is a topical steroid, Triamcinolone Acetonide. It is not an Antiacne medication and may in fact cause more acne if used regularly. I suggest you to discontinue it immediately. For your acne you may use either Clindamycin 1% gel or benzoyl peroxide 2.5% gel. For the dark spots of acne i suggest you to use a kojic acid based cream. All of these are prescription drugs.

Hope I have answered your query.
