Can Olmizest Be Taken By Breaking The Tablet In Half?
my father is 58yrs old and he is taking amlong-a,olmizest h -20,and now the problem is that he can take olmizest h-20 half tablet by breaking it or any complications on doing that .because his body is very sensitive,please give me suggestion .tablet is having coating and if we break it that coating will be destroyed ,any changes in tablet dissolving in bowl.??

Hi, Thank you for the query. You should not break any enteric coated tablet. The purpose of enteric coating is to protect your stomach from irritant effects of the drugs. Enteric coating make the drug acid stable so that it can only dissolve in the alkaline media of the small gut. There may be also efficacy issue of the drug.
