Can Nido Formula Help Prevent Breastfeeding?

Hi i've been breastfeeding my son since he was born, he is
9mths already and i want to stop breasfeeding already
i have been trying to get him to formula but he just
wont take it, i tried so many diff brands dnt know what
to do no more,i want to know if its safe to give him the Nido formula
its a mexican brand??

Thanks for posting your query at HealthCareMagic. I hope that your child has already been weaned, i.e. semi solids should already have been introduced since 6 months of age. In other words, give him mashed semi solid food made by mixing rice, pulses and vegetables. You can also add chicken and eggs but in mashed form. Gradually build up on the amount of this so that breast milk becomes an accessory. Some children feed on breast milk even upto a few years of age and there is nothing unusual about it. It is no use trying to switch to a formula milk. It can never give the child the taste and feel of human skin and mother's touch and smell so needless to say that the child would not accept it. If the bulk of the food comes from the semi solids, breast feeding would automatically become minimised and discontinuation would come thereafter.
