Can Nexplanon Cause Painful Breasts, Sore Throat And Cold?

Hello, it s been 2 weeks since I had Nexplanon inserted. The insertion site has healed very quickly with almost no bruising. The only thing that concerns me is that last week I noticed my left breast was sore and a couple of days ago I noticed my left breast looks bigger than my right breast. There is no redness and it isn t sore anymore but it is still bigger than the other. I also have a sore throat and cold, is this a side effect? I m mostly concerned about my breast, is this normal?

NEXPLANON is Etonogestrel Implant which is a small, soft, and flexible birth control implant.
Besides changes in menstrual bleeding patterns, other common side effects reported in women using NEXPLANON include: headaches, vaginitis, weight gain, acne, breast pain and discomfort, sore throats or flu-like symptoms, stomach pain, painful periods and mood swings.
Hence what you are experiencing some of the symptoms are possible side effects of the implant. Gradually, your body gets adjusted and they may get reduced to minimum.
In case it is causing more discomfort and becomes not tolerable, you need to seek medical attention.
