It is used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and phobia. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin in the brain. Common side effects of intake of this medication include: Nausea, Constipation, Decreased libido, Diarrhoea, Fatigue, Dizziness, Drowsiness, Dry mouth, Heartburn, Increased appetite, Increased sweating, Runny nose, Sneezing and Stomach pain. It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take the medication at a fixed time.
