Nexito contains escitalopram. It is used for treatment of depression. Escitalopram selectively inhibits CNS neuronal re-uptake of serotonin (5-HT) and potentiates serotonergic activity. High serotonergic activity is needed for anti-depressant effect. Its common side effects are headache, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, diarrhea, constipation, somnolence, insomnia, dizziness, tremor, anxiety, abnormal dreams, restlessness, sinusitis, yawning, joint pain, myalgia, pyrexia, fatigue, and ejaculation disorder. Sometimes it causes Suicidal ideation and behavior. Duration of treatment depends upon your symptoms. If you are responding then it’s good. But there should be a sustained response. On stoppage of Nexito, there might be relapse of depression. Anyway, as you are responding to it then continue it.
