Can Neosporin be applied on an infected wound?

I cut my leg about 8 days ago and went to ER and got 10 stitches for it in my right shin. I am on Keflex and was at dr yesterday and he removed 3 stitches and put on steri sstrips in there place. My wound site is red, swollen and bleeds alittle. Can I put Neosporin on it and cover it or should I leave it dry?

Hi thanks for your query.
Don't need to apply neosporin. Better leave it dry and get a dressing done for alternate days.stay away from water for three or four days.
thank you.
