Can Metronidazole Be Taken Along With Cold Medicine?

I was prescribed metronidazole but have not started taking it, I came down with a cold yesterday. I was told not to drink alcohol on this medication because it will make me throw up, I started using DayQuil today and Thereflu for my cold symptoms. Will this upset my stomach if I begin taking metronidazole while taking cold medication?

Hello,
Definitely alcohol should not be taken while taking metronidazole but there are no interactions between metronidazole and cold medications. You can go ahead and take medicines.
Thanks
