Can Metoprolol Be Taken While On Gavilyte And Clonazepam?

I am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow. I ve been on a three day diet, today liquids. Tonight at 6 I began taking Gavilyte drinking one-half of it. I am weak and need to take Metoprolol .25 mg. I also take Clonazepam which I think I ll forego tonight. Tomorrow at 4 I begin drinking the last one-half of Gavilyte. I m concerned about taking the meds on top of the Gavilyte which I finished two hours ago. What is your opinion?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Metoprolol is used to lower blood pressure and can also alter or slow down the heart rate.

With a reduced oral intake, it is possible that your blood pressure is already reduced.
The medication may push it down further.

It may be best to speak to your doctor about these regular meds

I hope this helps
