Hello,
Both lovastatin and Rosuvastatin i.e Crestor belong to same class of medicine for cholesterol control i.e Statins.Rosuvastatin is latest and very potent in controlling cholesterol levels and have some additional benefits over Lovastatin. So i will not suggest you to change it to lovastatin. If really its not affordable to you then you can think of Atorvastatin instead of Lovastatin which is better and also very good for controlling cholesterol.Lets talk to your doctor before changing your medicines.
Take care.Hope this helps.
Thank you.
