Can Lipitor Cause Stomach Pain, nausea And Diarrhea?

For 3 days now I ve had black/green explosive diarrhea and last night my stomach sounded like waves in an ocean (loud enough for me to record the sound) this continued for over 1/2 hour. I feel extremely nauseaus too. At first I thought food poisoning because it started quickly after eating a ham/cheese sandwich at convention (so from those carts). But it s lasted too long. I m still urinating, so not dehydrated yet, trying to keep up with my fluids but nothing stays in. The only change in my diet has been the prescription of Lipitor and my body low in estrogen due to pre-menopause. Other then that I eat healthy and do the T25 workouts every day (until I got sick of course, now I can barely function)

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The normal brown color of stool occurs as bile undergoes changes as it passes through the colon.
When a person passes stool frequently then the bile does not have the time to undergo changes so the stool remains green

The black color is concerning however because it may indicate the presence of blood in the stool.

Lipitor is not typically associated with diarrhea though persons react differently to medication.

An infection is the most likely cause, severe infections can cause bleeding to occur.

It may be best however, in light of the black stool, to see your doctor for an assessment

I hope this helps
