Can Linzess Be Taken At Night?

Should linzess be taken at night? And how long does it usually take to work? I usually take senokot every night around 5 and it works when I get up in the morning, but I read multiple reviews stating that linzess causes you to need a bathroom within 2-3 hours, along with diahrrea and terrible gas pains. Most of those reviews came from people who would take linzess in the morning, though.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Linzess comes as a capsule to take by mouth.

It is usually taken int he morning.

It's typically taken on an empty stomach once a day at the same time every day, such as at least 30 minutes before your first meal of the day.

The usual dose for adults with irritable bowel syndrome is 290 micrograms (mcg) once daily.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
