Can Lexapro For Anxiety And Nexium For Reflux Be Taken Together?

I was just prescribed lexapro (5 mg) for anxiety. I have taken four doses of it. I feel pretty jittery on it. I also take nexium for reflux. I just read that they should not be taken together but have terrible reflux. Should I talk with my doctor?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are taking Lexapro for anxiety and you are having stomach upset and you are taking nexium for stomach upset which can cause moderate interaction which is not a ideal combination to use. I would suggest you to do things, Either you reduce the dose of Lexapro as in higher dose it will cause interaction or you should take tablet pantoprazole 40 mg at night before food regularly rather than nexium. avoid intake of large meals and try short meals at frequent intervals. Visit ENt specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper examination. Drink plenty of water.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
