Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking Keflex for bronchitis. For some reason, I am very tired but I am having trouble falling asleep. Wondering if it could be the Keflex and if it is, could I miss the dose that I take in the pm. Tonight I took it around 6pm thinking that would be early enough that it would not affect my sleep. Nancy
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Keflex is a cephalosporin group of antibiotic well indicated in bacterial respiratory infections.Among the side effects of keflex, trouble with sleeping has been described .It may also have other side effects that may as well make you sleepless. Some of these are nervousness, anxiety, irritability, restlessness... Since the drug is not to be taken for long, i will suggest you continue with the drug as its benefits are more compared to risks and also since you have had it for some days already. You may also get over this effect after a few doses. Hope my answer will help you Quick recovery
