Can Implanon Cause The Urge To Pee? Taking Venlafaxine For Pression.

I don t know how to quite phrase this question but I will try to give sufficient details. I got an Implanon inserted around two months ago. I m not sure if my symptoms are related but I have had painful sex, general uncomfort around my vagina and sort of itchy inside (?), and the need to urinate a lot more frequently. After I urinate though, it feels like I need to go again straight away. I m not sure if the Implanon is related? Also I am on venlafaxine, if that helps at all. I take it for my depression.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not related to implanon. Possible causes like urinary tract infection or residual urine must be ruled out. Consult a urologist and get evaluated. A urine routine test and ultrasound scan is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family physician
