Can Ibuprofen Be Taken With Percocet For Severely Painful And Sore Throat?

My daughter 21 went to the ER at school this morning for body aches and severe sore throat. Her one tonsil is swollen to center of throat. They gave her percocet 5mg and she still has severe throat pain. Can she take ibuprofen on top of the percocet and how much?

Hi,welcome to HCM!
Percocet contains a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone.Percocet is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.In my opinion you should not use Ibuprofen on top of percocet because percocet is enough for the pain.
If the pain continue you should start antibiotics such as augmentin 625 mg twice a day for 5 to 7 days.
Also you should use local antiinflammatory sprays such as tanflex twice a day.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have another question I'll be glad to answer.
Regards,
dr.Dorina Gurabardhi!
