Can IBS Be The Reason For Abdominal Pain, Constipation And Swelling In The Back?

I have been diagnosed with IBS. I have had a colonoscopy in the last couple of years. I have frequent constipation, and nearly constant pain in my lower abdomen (left side). I was diagnosed with diverticulosis, and blood in my urine. I was seen by a urologist; they found nothing unusual. I also have swelling on the left side of my back, that worsens from time to time (none of the symptoms ever go away completely)

General Surgeon 's  Response
I presume from the clinical profile given you had the colonoscopy in past couple of years for various reasons and your IBS has been properly addressed by you and the Gastro as well with medication and the detection of diverticulosis of colon is recent development and if so it is also capable of symptoms noted now. As for the blood in urine ,it maybe due to oxalate rich food preferancce in your diet that may be inflamming the urinary bladder at times. Swelling in the left side of back noted may be unrelated to your IBS,Diverticulosis, blood in urine.Nevertheless it deserves attention and consult of GP and a general surgeon. Takecare.
