Can I Undergo Hysterectomy While Suffering From High Blood Pressure?

I have never been diagnosed officially with high blood pressure but i have had my pressure go up at times and then others i am normal. I am 42 years old and i am scheduled for a abdominal hysterectomy in October because of my uterine fibroids. I was also on bc pills for a couple of years and stopped 30 days ago. I am concerned about complications and wanted to know how to prepare myself for the surgery. also is a verticle incision harded to heal than a horizontal?

Ideally blood pressure should be controlled before any surgery to avoid bleeding complications . You have not mentioned about your bp records how much your bp is..don't get panic about your hysterectomy discus about this with your doctor and if it is must then try to cool down everything will be alright . If you are very anxious then your doctor can give you some anti anxiety drugs. If your bp is raised some times it may be because of stress you have..so plz discuss all this with your doctor .anti anxiety may be useful drug for you.hope this will help.
