Can I Take Aspirin For Excruciating Pain Due To Torn Ligament?

About five years ago I tore my ligaments in my left ankle. I did physical therapy and now my ankle swells everyday and I m in excruciating pain. Sometimes my ankle swells so bad that my knee starts to swell and cause pain as well. I take aspirin and elevate if with heat and ice and nothing is working.

Hello,

You can safely continue aspirin.

If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
