I had an ankle replacement 11 years ago that failed right about 10 years. I have now had a second ankle replacement along with fusion of the talus and that is now failing to heal around the stem of the prosthesis. The doctor I have been seeing says that the next step rather than extending the stem of the upper leg portion of the prosthetic is to fuse the joint with cadaver bone. is this the best option?
Hey! Back in July I was in a terrible car wreck and shattered my ankle. After undergoing surgery the surgeon replaced my ankle with a cadaver ankle and a metal plate and screws. Recently I have been experiencing a lot of problems with my fibula and over the last couple days a knot/bump has began to form about six inches from my ankle (on my fibula) where the metal plate is located. I was wondering what the bump is and where it is from?
