Can HIV Positive Person Stop Pills If There Are No Symptoms?

My near one having HIV+. He took pills for seven days but he suffered allergy. Now since last one and half year he is not taking any pill. But he is not suffering any problem. His weight is stable and not major illness.
Please advise me that he have to take pill or not ?

hi if you are a resident of INDIA then please consult a Medical officer at a near by ART( ante retroviral therapy centre) centre where we can get tested for HIV status and if positive then we can get tested for CD4 counts basing on which we can get treatment. At present if CD4 counts are less than 350 then we should start treatment immediately. as per your question you should be happy that your near one is maintaing the weight and no other symptoms. please consult the medical officer of ART centre who is trained to treat HIV hope i have answered your doubts
