Can HCG Increase If The Fetus Does Not Have Heartbeats?
I am 6 weeks pregnant today I started spotting a week ago. I had blood work done 7060hcg 44 hours later it was 11124hcg. This is my fifth pregnancy 3 were miscarriages 1 was a healthy baby girl. Checking to see if there is a heart rate this Wed. Can HCG increase if the fetus does not have a heart beat? Also I started experiencing upper chest pain last night could this symptom be related to the pregnancy?
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion usually fetal heart beat is visible at 6 weeks. The rise of HCG level is a good sign.If there is a miscarriage then HCG might not increase.Spotting for one episode might not definitely suggest miscarriage. So the causes for spotting needs to be evaluated for hormonal abnormalities like thyroid abnormalities, progesterone insufficiency, any cervical bleeding etc.So dont worry.Avoid stress and intercourse.Pain the upper chest might be due to gastritis.
