Can Gupisone And Telfast Be Taken While Having Antibiotic Medication Allergy?
thank you doctor. i have some times allergy in my upper lip when i take some kind of antibiotic medicine.my doctor gave me tow kinds of medicament for this case 1- gupisone20 mg.and 2- telfast 120. which one du you recommend me doctor to use now? with mybest thank.
Hi & Welcome. Yes, the prescribed medications may be taken for the antibiotic allergy. First of all you must stop using the 'offending' antibiotic causing allergic reactions involving your lips. For any allergic reaction, immediate medical attention has to be taken. 1. Gupisone is a steroid which acts as an anti-allergic and anti inflammatory & hence it can be used for severe allergic reactions that do not respond to oral anti histamines. 1. Telfast (Fexofenadine) is a non-sedating antihistamine which is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic reaction like urticaria or red & itchy swellings on the skin or on the lips or around the eye lids. I would recommend you to use Telfast first, if there's no response to it then Gupisone should be taken along with it after consulting your GP or physician. Hope this will help you.
