Fasting does not have any positive or negative effect on gastro esophagial reflux disease.
So, you can do fasting and continue your treatment for GERD.
Best wishes for your health.

I have had numbness on the left side of my head for over 10 years. Recently I had the flu bug and ever since the numbness is much more prounonced. A few times I have woken up unable to breath. I have difficulty swallowing and at one point it went on so long my wife called 911. I was able to breathe again and felt bad that she had to make that call. I also have mild gerd that does require 40mg of omprazale daily and I am not the best patient in taking this medicine as prescribed. Any thoughts? I have to do some marathon driving this Thursday and want to be sure I am not a stroke candidate, 10 years would be a very long time to build up to a stroke. Maybe shingles or mild MS?
i feel fine until i eat. then i have chest pains, my heart races (100-110) and heart burn. i take antacids for the heart burn and that seems to help it. but still have the chest pain and the heart racing. i have never had stomach problems before, but now i also have heart burn over the littlest thing. i talked to my doc about and he said that it was normal...but if that is the case, how come it is just starting after 35 years. thank you!!!

I ate a peace of chicken breast and after swallowing it, I feel that there is a small peace stuck in in my throat. I tried driinking hot coffee, swallowed a big peace of banana and the feeling of clutching in my slightly right of my middle chest is still there. Its been two days now and it feels likethe peace of chicken is still there. The feeling is diff. from heartburn. Im beginning to think I ate it so fast that it went the wrong way instead of my esophagus or it may be stuck in my airway. However i dont feel any obstruction in my breathing. I can breath fine. Whats going on my throat,..please tell me what to do.
