Can Eltroxin Be Stopped If Thyroid Function Tests Are Normal?

dr nf shahfrom hinduja hospiltal identify that i have thyroid problem in 1992.after that they advice that i have to take pill of eltroksin every day.that time my age was 16 yrs now i am age of 30 yrs and taking tablets. my t3 t4 and tsh reports are normal so should i stop the pillls

I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

You are suffering from hypothyroidism and you are taking eltroxin as thyroid supplements.

Your T3, T4 and TSH level are normal with eltroxin. It means you need the same dosage according to advice.

You should not stop eltroxin otherwise your TSH will increase and you will develop symptoms of hypothyroidism. Your all hormones are normal but it is due to effect of drug.
So you should not stop the medicine.
