Can Duphaston Help To Conceive And Treat PCOS?

Hi, I am 24yr and married, I really want to conceive but I have polystic ovary, and a irregular periods my doc prescribed me to take duphaston from day 11 of period to 15 days for 3 months,, Is this tablet help me to conceive please provide me some information,, I am really very worried

Thank you for posting your query in HCM
I understand your concern and want to help you.
Polycystic overian syndrome (PCOS) which is causing irregular ovulation. It is due to Insulin Resistance. If you are obese or overweight you should reduce your weight, eat wholesome food and exercise well to reduce the insulin resistance. Metformin in addition to the life style changes would help reduce Insulin resistance and improve the regularity of menstruation and ovulation.
Duphaston does not help in reducing IR or improve the ovulation. It would only help in preparing the uterus for better implantation of the fertilized ovum and hence may not help you.
