Can Dramamine Cause Ascites?
I read that Dramamine can cause ascites and I have taken more than recommended dose for 6 months and I have a firm rounded abdomen. If I stop Dramamine now will the ascites in my abdomen go away quickly? My liver profile is normal and I do not drink alcohol.

While I see some case reports of this on the internet I can find no evidence of ascites being reported as a side effect of dramamine in the medical literature. Dramamine is an antihistamine and it can cause drowsiness and dry mouth I can not see any reports of ascites from this or any other antihistamine. See your doctor for an evaluation of why you are having a firm rounded abdomen. Not all firm rounded abdomens are from ascities.
