Can Diclofenac Or Meloxicam Be Taken After Receiving A Corticosteroid Shot?

I had a guided hip injection this afternoon. I am experiencing several known side effects. I know it’s not a good idea to take diclofenac or meloxicam when taking oral steroids. Can I take either since the corticosteroid was injected or should I just stick with ice and hope my family can put up with my pain long enough to get back to the doctor?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If the pain is worsening then it can be taken. If used in combo or for a longer duration then a PPI should be added.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
