Can Clonidine And Lisinopril Be Taken Together?

My dr changed my BP meds to Cozar and added clonidine for when my bottom # won t come down to a normal range, I was on 20mg lisinopril and it was not helping. the cozar is too strong it seems so I took a 20mg lisinopril but the bottom is staying in the high 90 s, is it safe to take a clonidine with lisinopril?

Hi,

You can take Clonidine with Lisinopril, it is safe.

However, Cozaar is not a strong medicine, it only affects more your diastolic pressure (the bottom).

In my opinion, it is alright if you continue taking Cozaar and Clonidine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
