General & Family Physician 's  Response
Safety of clarithromycin is not established in pregnancy. It is FDA pregnancy category C drug. Category C includes antibiotics that have not been tested on pregnant women enough to provide a definitive result. A better option is azithromycin which is FDA pregnancy category B drug. Category B includes antibiotics that are not known to cause fetal birth defects or any other pregnancy complications.
Advice
1.     Stop clarithromycin immediately
2.     Take azithromycin 500 mg daily per oral for 3 days
Thanks
