Can Atenolol be taken before a treadmill stress test?

I am 69 yrs. old and have been on atenolol .25 mg once a day for mitral valve prolapse. I have heard if you don t take it, you shouldn t stress your heart doing physical activity. They want me to not take it before a tread mill stress test. Is that wise?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the mitral valve prolapse then it could be valvular heart disease may requires valve replacement, Atenolo is beta-blocker work on angina, hypertension, it may not works on valvular heart disease, hope this information helps.
