Can Amoxicillin Causes Heavy Periods?
In October I had an URI and strep throat. I was given amoxicillin. Which I m allergic to. My period started a few days after taking amoxicillin. Then stopped early. In November I had a heavy period lasting a day or two longer. Now in December I m having a very light period going on two weeks. Is this because of the amoxicillin? Like a side effect?

amoxicillin is not supposed to cause such side effects. It does not interact with the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis and is completely eliminated in much less than a single day. Perhaps you should visit your gynecologist for assessment.

No... this is not because of the amoxicillin. Effects or side effects of a drug like amoxicillin would not last that long. Even heavy periods is not a common side effect of Amoxicillin.
Kindly visit your clinician to rule out ectopic, uterine fibroid or endometriosis. She may procure your blood hormone levels including thyroid.
