Can Amlodipine Be Used For High Blood Pressure?

My husband is have a flu and checked the blood pressure today and the reading is 157/115. He just started the high blood pressure medicine after measurement. Any action to be taken or just finish the course of the medication? Doctor prescribed AMLODIPINE (AMTAS). Any side effects?

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the hypertension then medicine is the way to treat this regardless the side effect of this, because treating the hypertension is necessary, and all the antihypertensive drugs have the same side effects, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
