CT scan shows hypodense lesions, PRE syndrome. Diagnosis, treatment, preventive measures?
hello Dr, my father recently undergone CT scan . in the report the conclusion is hypodense lesions noted involving bilateral parafalcine parietoocipital cortices and white matter-could be PRE syndrome . so what could be the diagnosis, treatment and how to prevent further condition Dr. plz give me ur valuable suggestions . Diagnosis is as you have written PRE (posterior reversible encephalopathy) syndrome. The causes rae varied and commonly include high blood pressure, renal filure, electrolyte disturbance etc. The treatment is aimed at correction of the cause. As the name says it is reversible.
However diagnosiscan not be made just on the basis of CT report and clinical correlation has to be done.
