Buzzing Sound In The Ear. What Is It?

Hello.
What would cause strange noises in my ear? I've been hearing things that aren't there our of my left ear 3 times in the past two weeks. The first time I noticed it, I was having a conversation with my boyfriend. When he was talking to me it sounded as if he was talking out of a staticy radio. (Sort of a buzzing in his voice).. THe second time it happened, it sounded almost as if a bug was in my ear.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello kelly
Any abnormal sound if u hear for more than 5 minutes but not after exposure to loud sound is tinnitus and is pathological.
So 1st of rule out that .
If its less than 5 mins and after exposure to loud sound or after hearing or listening to music or something for quite long, then do not worry avoid listening to music or loud sounds.
If it comes in category of tinnitus then u must get an Pure tone audiogram(hearing test) done and if there is some abnormality u can get done further tests and for that do consult an ENT specialist.
Also u can get done MRI Brain With Contrast done.
these things i have advised considering u dont have any ear discharge or acute infection in ears which can be ruled out after examining them with Otoscope which can be done by ENT specialist.
I find this answer helpful
