Burning while urination, pinkish discharge, hot flashes. Had unprotected sex. UTI or Pregnancy?

Hi I have a question. Kind of personal, but I'm concerned. When I use the restroom, it burns when I pee, and when I wipe there is light pink blood. Very little though and not everytime. No blood in the urine. And I have to pee CONSTANTLY. Ill go, and few minutes later feel the urge to again. I also keep getting hot flashes. My boyfriend and I have unprotected sex all the time and he does indeed, release inside of me. I've looked this all up on google. And it says its a possible UTI, could it also be pregnancy symptoms and not a uti?

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

It appears as though you could first of all be suffering from a urinary tract infection (UTI), for this purpose let me list the symptoms of a UTI. They are:
-Burning sensation while urinating
-Frequent urination
-Increased urge to urinate, but less amount of urine passed
-Lower abdominal and/or flank region pain
-Itching around the genitals

Please note that not all symptoms need be present to suspect a UTI.

Now coming to the pink color discharge that you have been noticing. A pink color discharge is seen in two occasions:
-An infection
-First few days of a period

As you are also have other symptoms of a UTI, the discharge could be attributed to this.

Now coming to the pregnancy, early signs of pregnancy will provide you more information on whether or not you are pregnant. Also, when was your last period? When was the last time you have sexual contact with your boyfriend?

If you are still suspecting pregnancy, then you could go ahead with a urine pregnancy test kit. This should be conducted 2 weeks after the last sexual contact and on the first or second day of a missed period. Also an early morning urine sample is most concentrated and would yield an accurate result. I would also advice you to repeat this test 2-3 times, to confirm the report.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
