Burning And Intense Itching In The Anus. Reason?

Ive had intense burning and itchy sensations in my anus/rectum region. It feels like a bad sun burn and the itching is non stop. I live in Miami, and the car seats get really hot, i wonder if its from the heat. I notice that the itching and burning is worse when i wear jeans. Ive had this problem for 3 years now. It eventually goes away after a month or two. vPlease advise

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Infection or irritation due to high temperature of this area is possible. However, most common reason of itching in this area are hemorrhoids. Usually hemorrhoids are caused by constipation, bad diet (low fiber intake), lack of physical activity. Some fresh blood on the surface of the stool can be present. Lump can be occasionally visible in the rectal area.
I suggest you to try such treatment:
- increase fiber rich products and mineral water intake
- avoid constipation, try to make your stool softer
- wash your rectum after every stool
- use OTC suppositories for hemorrhoids
- have sitz baths with Quercus Cortex twice a day

It should help with hemorrhoids and with this area irritation caused by other reasons. If no improvement in 7 days, you should visit your doctor and have this area examined.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
