Burning After Injecting Methane, White Patch, Swelling, Pain, Numbness. Suggestions?

I missed when injecting meth into the vein that is in the middle of my left arm just below my wrist. After finding the vein I started injecting. I could feel it burn so I pulled back the plunger and I still got blood so I started again and the same thing happened after injecting a couple ccs so I pulled it back again and there was still blood so I continued. Afterwards my arm below my wrist (towards my outer arm) turned white, swelled, hurt a little and was numb. I soaked in hot water for a few minutes and then alternated between putting a hot wash cloth on it or wrapping a potato cut in half in an ace bandage. It now burns if I put warm water on it so I have a cool wash cloth on it. The swelling/white patch is not so obvious anymore but when I use my last 2 fingers on that hand I have pain where the swelling is below my wrist and it is still numb. Will that go away?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems that you have got some drug injected extravenously that has caused an inflammation in the surrounding area. It is best to do a cold compress in the area and get local cortisone injection injected to reduce the inflammation.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Praveen-Tayal
