Bump On Areola Near Nipple, Popped, Sharp Pain, Was It A Gland?

Hi after my second pregnancy I had a thing on the aerola beside my nipple (now I know it wa sa montgomery gland, and it was almost the size of my nipple). I popped it a few times this is about 2 years ago, back then occasionally when get a sharp pain. now it seems to be very frequent, I am hoping that it is not cancerous, and I have a chance of fixing it. I currently am waiting to see my doctor, but my mind is just spinning. Please help!!

Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
Montgomery glands are sebaceous glands in the areola surrounding the nipple. The glands make oily secretions to keep the areola and the nipple lubricated and protected. The round bumps are found in the areola, and on the nipple itself. The tubercles become more pronounced during pregnancy. The number of glands can vary greatly, usually averaging from 4 to 28 per nipple.
You dont seem to be having cancer and the lesion doesnt seem to be a montgomery gland either. You are already going to see your doctor,go with relaxed mind it could be related to breastfeeding problems, infections, or intraductal papillomas.
I sincerely hope this will help you!
Take care!
