Bubble On Top Of C Section Scar. IUD Removed, No Periods Yet.Is It Boil Or Overgrown Hair ?

I have a bubble on top of my c section scar. I had my baby over 5 years ago. Not much has change except I had my IUD removed 3 months ago and I haven't had a period in 2 months. I took a at home pregnancy test that was negative. The bubble is located above the top left concer of my scar. It is 2 inches wide. It is very painful. Especially when I touch it. Could it be a boil or in grown hair? I am overweight and where the scar is my belly hangs over. Please advise if I can wait to see the doctor or if I will need to go sooner.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such boil in the scar area is most likely a surgical suture. Sometimes such sutures irritate tissues and can cause local inflammation eve after few year.
Other possible reason is a hernia in the scar. If so, it should be more visible and painful while standing and coughing.
Endometriosis should be also ruled out.

I suggest you to have this area ultrasound and consult general surgeon.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
