Bruise On Face, Fever After Falling Down. Anything To Worry?
My son is 1yr and 1 month old he has just begun to walk he has 2 bruises on his face from falling 2 days ago and he had just got his 1 year shots this week also he did not get fever after the shots this was before the falls. The first bruise is on his forehead and the second is on his cheek.the bruise on his cheek is more noticable that the one on his forehead from 2 days ago and today he fell again around 1:30 at 3:30 he started to get fever but he's been getting fever since yesturday so I gave him tylonal and now he's sleeping I'm observing him while he's sleeping and should I be concerned about the fever and take him to the hospital? He's fine no throwing up he seems normal to me?

the fever may be due to injuries he received due to falls or a viral fever
give paracetamol 25mg/kg 3-4 times daily
give erythromycin 30mg/kg /day in divided dose to prevent o r treat innfection as he sustained bruises due to fall
he will be happy within 3-4 days

there are lots of causes of fever in a children.most common of them is viral infection without evaluating the baby it is very difficult to give accurate diagnosis.viral infection goes off in 4-5 days.continue with paracetamol as per his weight and plenty of fluids.give normal diet.if child is ok and shows no other symptoms thn you can wait but if not thn have an expert consultation.
dont worry for brusies,they will go off spontaneously in 10-15 days.these bruises cant be cause of fever in child.
