Brown vaginal discharge, no pain. Complete hysterectomy done, kidney, bladder normal. Causes?

I have had a hysterectomy in 2006 and it was a complete hysterectomy. I am now having and have been having for the past 4 or 5 years brown discoloration in my underpants. I have had my kidney and bladder checked and no blood there. Is this old blood or what? I have no pain just this brown spotting and sometimes it is not even noticable until after I have slept.
