Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
It seem that you have developed post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation or PIH. It is commonly seen after minor friction or trauma which you were not aware of. You can apply creams such as Azelaic acid, glycolic acid can be used to reduce the pigmentation under dermatological supervision.
Do not worry it is not related to any of the things with smoking part.
