Brown Saliva, Rancid Breath. Had Acute Tonsillitis. Something To Worry About?

Hi, i was discharged from hospital yesterday after being diagnosed with acute tonsilitis, since then, although the pain in my throat has gone down so that i can now swallow with ease. i am now producing brown saliva and my breath is fairly rancid no matter how ofter i clean my teeth or gargle mouthwash , the smell soon comes back. Is the Brown saliva ( and excess production of it) something to worry about?
