Bright Yellow Urine, Bad Odor, Lighter In Color After Drinking Lots Of Water. Diabetic. Recommendations?
hi I am a diabetic and I am 60 years old, the problem I have is my urine most of the time is a really bright yellow that you can not see through and the smell is bad. the only way to thin it out and make it lighter is to drink and drink water till I am sick of the stuff but it comes back as soon as I slow down on my drinking.
Hello, Your symptom could be because of uncontrolled diabetes resulting in either urinary tract infection or diabetic nephropathy resulting in passing of proteins in it.You are advised to consult a doctor and get your urine tested microscopically and for albumin and get your blood sugar levels checked up. Get urine culture done if you find pus cells in urine and take antibiotics for it. If protein is found in urine, then get 24 hour urine tested for microalbuminaria. Control your sugar levels meticulously. Consult a diabetologist or an internal medicine specialist for proper management. Thanks
Hi, the causes of dark yellow urine is hepatitis, but the smell may not be there, other causes are urinary tract infection. You should immediately Consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have blood work and USscanning to find out the type of hepatitis or infection. Thank you.
