Breathlessness, Back Pain, Leaking Heart Valve, Speckles On Lungs. Symptoms Of Pleurisy Or Pneumonia?
The query is re my 89 year old grandma. She is experiencing shortness of breath and is in pain in her back. Doctor has said that she has leaking heart valve and speckles on her lung and has prescribed pain killers. She seems to be shifting downhill very quickly though. Chest xray results still to come back. Could she have pluerisy or pneumonia?

If your grandma is having cough associated with sputum,it may be Pneumonia.If she is having sharp pain while breathing ,it may be pleurisy.
Please wait for the X ray chest for accurate diagnosis.If it is inconclusive,further tests will be advised by your doctor.
